Flavor: Olives
Country: Spain
When Seen: October 2025
In a Bite: Just like olives, but without the sour brine
In a Haiku: Overly simple? Or exquisitely gourmet? Try them and decide.
Origin Story: Olives are the quintessential Mediterranean snack, having been cultivated in Spain for at least the three thousand years, and even longer further east. The Lay’s Flavor Department has given this ancient fruit the highest of honors by packaging it up as a Gourmet label flavor. Well deserved, many would say, unless you’re one of the world’s olive haters.
