Origin Story: Chinese five spice is the go-to powder for both novices who want to try their hands at cooking up a little Chinese inspired dish, as well as seasoned chefs. A mix of star anise, cloves, cinnamon, Sichuan pepper, and fennel, this seasoning is used in a range of Chinese dishes. Given its name recognition, it makes sense as the easy choice for an ‘Inspired by China’ flavor.
