Childhood in a crunch.

Origin Story: Fritelle (or fritters) have graced European street fairs since medieval times — lumps of sweet dough dropped into hot oil until golden and glorious. The Lay’s Flavor Department found themselves wandering a Marché de Noël in Lyon, hands wrapped around paper cones of freshly fried dough, when inspiration struck. They spent months reverse-engineering that moment: the vanilla warmth, the powdered sugar dust, the guilty pleasure of eating something you probably shouldn’t. The result captures the essence of French carnival fare without the sticky fingers (though you’ll still want to lick them anyway).
