Origin Story: Ghost peppers (Bhut Jolokia) once held the Guinness record for world’s hottest chili at over 1 million Scoville units, until they didn’t. Of course, this isn’t the first time that the Thai Lay’s Flavor Department has paired ghost peppers with chips, but this time they decided to go all in. For the first time in Lay’s history, to our knowledge, they added actual dried ghost pepper pieces loose in the bag. The result is a chip that doesn’t flirt with spice — it marries it, moves in with it, and brings the whole extended family.
