Origin Story: When Korean chicken restaurant Bonchon first start expanding in Thailand over the past decade, its spicy fried chicken was a huge success. Hoping to capitalize on that craze, this flavor was brought to the masses by the Lay’s Flavor Department. Perhaps if they had secured the rights to the actual Bonchon recipe, this version would have been a bit more flavorful.
