Flavor: Crab
Country: Kyrgyzstan
When Seen: August 2019
In a Bite: Kind of like Old Bay seasoning and shrimp.
In a Haiku: Pinch me twice, dear crab. Baltimore meets Kyrgyzstan. Yet more shrimp than crab.
Origin Story: According to Taste Atlas, there’s no good local crab in Kyrgyzstan. In fact, the best we were able to find was this guy known as the Hermit Crab who has been walking from Switzerland to Asia who passed through Kyrgyzstan. Looks like this flavor has cornered the market. Well played, Flavor Department.
