Origin Story: This flavor of Lay’s Thailand’s Inspired By series, comes to us from Taiwan, inspired by the crispy fried giant squid sold by street hawkers. While some Reddit users may debate whether it is actually 7 spices, or if they are more commonly cooked with 5 or 13 spices, the answer is clear. The Lay’s Flavor Department only had 7 spices in stock when creating this flavor, and hence, 7 spices it is.
