Origin Story: Given how prone some people are to mix up Thailand and Taiwan, the Lay’s Flavor Department in Thailand didn’t want to add one more reason to confuse the two. So when Taiwan released scallops flavored chips last month, they knew they’d have to take their planned scallops flavor up a notch. Throw in some white cream sauce, and voilà, an impossible to confuse variation.
