Origin Story: The problem with french fries is that they don’t travel well. Unless you eat them fresh from the fryer, they quickly go limp and flaccid. This caused a problem for train enthusiasts in China who also wanted to enjoy a nice serving of fries midway along the route from Xi’an to Chengdu. Thankfully, the Lay’s Flavor Department has solved for this problem with ever-crispy fries in a cup.
