Origin Story: Prawn cocktail flavored chips got their start in Cyprus after some British soldiers from RAF Akrotiri base shared the original Walker’s prawn cocktail crisps with their Cypriot neighbors, one of whom happened to be working with the Lay’s Flavor Department. The next day, they called up their counterparts in the UK and asked for a vat of flavoring so they could make their own version right on the island.
