Origin Story: The origin of salt and vinegar pre-dates that of the humble potato chip. Long added to fries at British fish and chip shops, it wasn’t until 1967 that this in-your-face duo found their way onto pre-packaged potato chips. In this case, the Lay’s Flavor Department has simply decided to deliver a classic flavor. Nothing more, nothing less.
