Origin Story: There have been no shortage of chicken flavored chips across the Lay’s universe, although until now, they have always been a gussied up version of this staple meat. Not so, here. The Flavor Department wanted to let that pure avian flavor speak for itself without adulteration. Nothing but chicken this time. But just to make sure customers don’t get confused and think that they are opening an actual bag of chicken, they helpfully added in as asterisk with a footnote noting that these are potato chips.
