Origin Story: Beshbarmak, which literally means five fingers because it is meant to be eaten with your hands, is one of the most popular dishes in Kazakhstan. Some even claim it’s the national dish. Typically consisting of wide noodles and stewed horse or mutton meat, it has deep roots in the nomadic traditions of the Kazakh people.
