Origin Story: Originally hailing from the southern Thai city of Hat Yai, near the border with Malaysia, this crispy fried chicken with fried shallots has become a popular street food all over the country. As with many Lay’s creations that pay homage to famous street food, this flavor was created to give customers a more convenient way of eating this classic fried chicken while on the run, and with a bit less grease on their fingers.
