Flavor: Picante (Spicy)
Country: Peru
When Seen: December 2024
In a Bite: Mildly spicy paprika on pieces of cardboard
In a Haiku: It’s the second best. Milder than the real one. Prep some extra sauce.
Origin Story: Although named the generic Picante, these chips are made with aji panca, the second most popular chili pepper in Peru. Why not the first, you ask? Some say that the yellow color of the aji amarillo just didn’t look as nice on the packaging.
