Origin Story: Taiwan is well-known for its delicious and diverse street food, but sometimes, you want to try something a bit less commonplace. As is often the case in these types of situations, in sweeps the Lay’s Flavor Department to the rescue, with this yakitori-inspired flavor. These grilled chicken skewers with their sweet and salty sauce date back to the Edo period, and while Tokyo might not be one of the Seven Great Yakitori Towns in Japan, it certainly is one of the best known Japanese cities, so why not throw that in the name too?
