Origin Story: Chuka wakame salad is a seasoned seaweed salad from Japan and commonly found in grocery stores and Japanese restaurants across Thailand. This flavor is another one of Lay’s exclusive distribution deals with 7Eleven, which, as it turns out, also sells actual chuka wakame salad. Try eating seaweed salad while running for the bus, and you’ll understand why this potato chip version was dreamed up by the Lay’s Flavor Department.
