In a Bite: Untasted. Have you tried it? Email us and tell us what you thought.
In a Haiku: Sour, sweet, spicy. Paired with salty, greasy wings. Complex, yet simple.
Origin Story: The original Sriracha sauce can trace its origins to Thailand more than 80 years ago. The version that is popular across the US? That one was created in 1980 by a Chinese immigrant from Vietnam, taking inspiration from the flavors of Thailand. Based on the yellow cap on the packaging, the Lay’s Flavor Department clearly chose to go with the original, Sriraja Panich, despite using the more conventional Sriracha spelling. Whichever version you prefer, you can probably agree that there is no better pairing than with some fried chicken wings.
