Origin Story: Chicago is known for many things, but when one thinks of hot wings, it is likely not high on the list, with other cities like Nashville and Buffalo more likely to come to mind. So why Chicago hot wings flavor? The explanation is, in fact, very simple. One of the Lay’s Flavor Department team members from Jordan did study abroad in the Chicago metro area and that is where they tried hot wings for the first time. They simply assumed it was a dish from Chicago and wanted to honor that flavor.
