Origin Story: Long-time readers of LATW know that we tend to avoid posting flavors that we consider to be too common, which is why we don’t have the Classic flavor from the US posted, although we did go with the American Classic from China and India. Barbecue, on its own, is one of those other seemingly generic flavors, but a closer look at the packaging reveals that this is not your typical American style barbecue. This flavor is meant to evoke a barbecued meat skewer, more akin to shish kebab or shashlik. But let’s move on from its origins on this website and discuss the origins of the flavor itself. It’s pretty simple actually. Roasted meat on a stick is a timeless classic that goes back to pre-historic times. How could it go wrong on a potato chip?
